Don't mind getting your hands dirty and need a 101 on bike repair? This is the workshop for you!

Meet us at 95 The Pond Rd (The Quad, Unit 90)

Free bike loans will be available (limited basis, RSVP, FCFS)

Requirements:
- Persons participating MUST bring their own helmet 
- Persons loaning bikes must arrive a half hour before the workshop for fitting and sizing
- Helmets will be available for purchase if borrowing a bike
- Free loans must sign waivers AND complete CBSN survey

Join us for the Cycle York Open House on Thursday, September 6 at 3:00 PM at the Quad!

Schedule: 
3:00 PM: Tour of our new space!
3:15 PM: Short demonstration: do-it-yourself bike tune up 
3:30 PM: Volunteer drive

Location: 95 The Pond Road, Unit #90 (South-East Corner)

Light refreshments and drinks will be served.

The shop offers a place to hold workshops, a bike share and group rides!

Cycle York at Open Streets To

Ride with Cycle York at Open Streets TO on Sunday, August 19 at 10 AM - 2 PM!

Please meet us at the event! The ride starts at noon from Yonge and Bloor.

Open Streets TO opens streets to people by briefly coming them to cars so we can play in the streets and meet our neighbours. Activity Hubs along the route will be programmed with free and fun activities for people of all ages and abilities!

It's never too late to ride your bike! Folks enjoyed this FREE event on learning to ride a bike. We will provided the bikes. At the end of the day, we were happy to say that we got someone up and riding on their own!

All Learn How to Ride A Bike is at the shop, located at the Pond Road.

Swap Till You Drop! 

The Regenesis Reuse Centre at UofT hosted a Swap event on July 22nd! 

Folks brought gently used clothing, shoes, books and knickknacks to trade, and take home something new! The event was FREE.

6th Annual Farm Festival

Our team tabled at the 6th Annual Farm Festival! We offered bike tune ups! 

The festival was filled with lots of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy:

😻 face paint,
📚 storytelling under our magical apple tree,
👟 an amazing race scavenger hunt, 
🎨 art corner hosted by The Livingroom Community Art Studio,
🥋 a live Capoeira performance by BatuCapoeira,
🐢 living creatures from Toronto Wildlife Centre, 
🍕 famous pizza made in the wood-fired oven and much, much more!

Participants learned the basic bike repairs. This event gave folks the the chance to ask our mechanic  bike related questions!

Bike Ride- G. Ross Lord Park

Cyclist enjoyed a fun bike ride to G. Ross Lord Park. This was a 15k route, perfect for beginer-intermediate riders.

Our team had an amazing time at the Duke Eats Festival! We would like to send out a huge thank you to everyone that came. 

Our bike mechanic offered free tune ups and bike owners received great advice!

Listed below are some of the great activities at the festival:

- Free entertainment zone, complete with a bouncy castle and games!
- Cotton candy
- Snow cones
- Popcorn
- Face painting & Balloon animals
- Food trucks
- Caricature sketch done live
- countless booths giving away other free items!

Cyclists joined us for a fun bike ride along the Humber Loop! This is a 13k route was perfect for beginner-intermediate riders.

Learn to Ride Your Bike Pt 1

It's never too late to ride your bike!

This is a  FREE event on learning to ride your bike.

For events, we will provide the bikes, you just bring your enthusiasm! We encourage folks to bring their friends!

We went over many aspects that beginner cyclists have questions about.

Unlike a group ride we can easily share 4-5 bicycles with a group of 10-15 participants! Feel free to bring yours too!

The format was discussion and then demonstrations!

- Helmet sizing and proper fit
- Bicycle sizing and fit
- Visualization (imagining yourself riding a bike smoothly)
- Pedaling one foot at a time and being steady
- Awareness on the bicycle of pedestrians and other traffic
- Be seen on the bike and be heard

Group Ride and Picnic - 26k

We partnered with York Outdoor Club for an exilerating group ride and picnic.

This was a group bike ride followed by a delicious potluck picnic in the park! 

We followed Thornhill loop which resulted in approximately a  26k long bike ride, and we were rewarded with a delicious potluck picnic! 

Bring your own bike or let us know and we can provide a bike for the ride (limited number of bikes to borrow)

The journey to Black Creek Loop was an experience to remember! 
This was a 20k route at casual pace.

A successful collaboration with York Outdoor Club!

This was a group bike ride followed by dinner at a local restaurant on Monday, May 7th, 4pm - 7pm. 
 

We followed the finch loop (around 20k).

Please note that you can bring your own bike, or we can let you borrow a bike for the ride (first come first serve basis).
