General Environmental Program Coordinator
Job Title: Environmental Program Coordinator
Location: UofT Mississauga, UofT Scarborough, York University
Work Setting: Hybrid
Duration: 20 to 30 hours per week over 4 months in the May 1- August 31
Reports To: Chapter Coordinator
Position Overview
The General Environmental Program Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting and improving sustainability initiatives at the UTSC, UTM, and York U campuses. This position involves managing and enhancing programs such as the Free Store, Borrowing Centre, Farmers' Market, and other campus-wide events that promote environmental and community engagement.
The role offers a dynamic opportunity for individuals passionate about environmental sustainability and community development. It combines leadership, organizational, and communication skills to drive meaningful impact on campus and within the surrounding community.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Program Development
Collaborate with the Chapter Coordinator to establish goals and priorities for sustainability initiatives.
Lead planning and development sessions for programs and events, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and supporting volunteers and executive team members.
Program Operations
Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned programs such as the Free Store, Borrowing Centre, and Farmers' Market.
Develop and implement systems to track inventory, program participation, and community feedback.
Monitor and report on program performance to ensure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Event & Campaign Coordination
Plan, organize, and execute sustainability-focused events, workshops, and outreach activities.
Coordinate logistics, including venue bookings, volunteer management, and event promotion.
Support the creation and distribution of promotional materials across digital and print platforms.
Outreach & Engagement
Build partnerships with campus organizations, community groups, and external stakeholders to increase program visibility and engagement.
Develop and implement communication strategies, including social media, email campaigns, and newsletters.
Represent Regenesis values and initiatives at campus and community events.
Administrative Support
Maintain accurate records of program activities, budgets, and participant data.
Assist with grant writing, funding proposals, and reporting requirements.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in sustainability, environmental studies, public policy, or a related field.
Skills & Experience
Proven ability to manage projects and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in program management, event coordination, or outreach is an asset.
Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
