Good Food Market
2 students, 10 hours a week (September to November, January to March)
Key responsibilities:
Determine a day and time that works for ALL hired for this position, but that is also a popular and well-trafficked day on campus
Ordering food from FoodShare at least one week in advance (failure to order on time will mean we have no food)
Pick up the fruit/vegetables from the delivery location (ensure they are not left unattended)
Pick up any additional items we are selling from our storage or fridge (e.g. fair trade chocolate bars)
Pick up signage promoting Regenesis and the market from our storage
Pick up POS payment system and cash float for the market
Display items in an attractive way on the table (e.g. with a table cloth, etc.)
Sell items during the regular day/times
Any items leftover that will go bad before the next week (e.g. leafy greens, bananas, berries), give away to Regenesis volunteers first, and then Regenesis student staff, and then Regenesis full-time staff (in that order)
Any items that can last until the next week (e.g. potatoes, onions, apples, avocados), store it appropriately (e.g. dry storage, fridge)
Return signage and other items needed to run the market back to storage, in the correct place or box
